Paris HAUTE COUTURE Fall/Winter 2012/2013 Part 1

by Angeles

DIOR

This is Raf Simons debut at his first haute couture collection for  Christian Dior. And everyone was really interesting, from designers, fans and clients, how will be his first haute couture collection.
In my opinion Raf Simons did very well. He followed the classic cut from Dior with a two
protagonists: the peplum and the full skirt. With a lot of strapless silhouettes and exquisite fabrics decorating with flowers, polka dots and some brilliants colors.

ALEXIS MABILLE

French designer Alexis Mabille, who was one of the guest members of Paris Haute Couture week’s, showed a sparkle collection full of sequins, crystals, velvet, lace and interesting pony tails on models that they look like a surrealist antennae.
It is an evening collection where opulence is the main character.

GUSTAVO LINS

Gustavo Lins showed a highly architectural cut collection, a little bit masculine but always with a feminine silhouette and this is the interesting part of his couture collection. The whole collection have a twist between masculine and feminine but at the end I recognize  that everything has been feminized.
From a male wardrobe to a female wardrobe...very interesting!!!

VERSACE

Versace is back from the real Versace!
With the pastel colors, high and tiny waist, the scarf prints, the Medusa emblems and the bared skin, Versace is going to hit all the dance floors here in Miami.
With chiffon, silk, leather and some crystals the couture Versace collection put back the sexy powerful woman who knows what they want.

GEORGE CHAKRA

George Chakra made a couture collection with all the drama from a fabulous women.
He showed some interesting dresses with feathers and asymmetric cut that they were really
catching my eyes.

BOUCHRA JARRAR

I love Bouchra Jarrar couture collection, it's so feminine, clean, with pure fabrics and the most important thing no crystal or sequins are in any of the garments...and this is something
really rare in a Haute Couture.
All of the ensembles have a waist and they look marvelous on models... I imagine a young actresses  wearing his fabulous designs, like Emma Stone or Carey Mulligan.
Fabulous collection!

IRIS VAN HERPEN

Iris Van Herpen showed a emotional, expressive  and very creative collection. Sometimes her collection looks to me a little bit alien style...but it doesn't bother me a tall. I love the feminine structures that they create a very alive collection, like in one point the garments are going to move and they are going to change in a different design.

GIAMBATTISTA VALLI

Red, green and ruffles have been created a dream garden full of joy, elegance and sophistication.
I have been never disappointment of Giambattista Valli. He designed the most exquisite details on this collection, like the metal grape leaf where is attached around the neck or waist.

STEPHAN ROLLAND

Stephan Rolland created a couture collection with long crepe de chine and satin
evening dresses with heavy draping. Some of the ensembles have a metal detail or feather that I thought it was interesting. Most of the color where neutrals black, white and beige and just a couple of them they were in burgundy creating an elegant silhouette.

ARMANI PRIVE

Armani Prive showed a traditional haute couture collection  from day to night.
His collection goes from blues, mauve, black, white and bright fuchsia with elegance and simple cuts. Pants, jackets and flats for any morning day and in the evening he transformed a dress in a full color dress with a touch of mystery.

CHANEL

Chanel always is Chanel.... and in this couture collection Chanel showed a classic traditional collection with the classical tweet suits, mixing some of them with tulle and in black, white, grey and pale rose colors. What I really love from this collection was the metal details on the waist
in some of the ensembles.

GIVENCHY

Givenchy is a dream come true...... love all of the details, fabrics, mix of colors , embroidery and the way Ricardo Tisci created a gypsy bohemian collection with some classic cuts from Hubert Givenchy.
He is a master of the fringes with the most exquisites details from every part of his designs, from back to the front and from inside to the outside.
